8 reasons why saffron should be in your beauty routine

Saffron is harvested manually by the Crocus sativus blossom, commonly known as the” saffron crocus.” The term” saffron” pertains to the blossom’s thread-like structures or blot.

The reason behind the hefty price is its labor-intensive harvesting method, making the product expensive.

Saffron includes a remarkable assortment of plant chemicals that act like antioxidants — molecules that protect your cells against free radicals and oxidative stress.

Fighting acne

With its amazing anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory qualities, saffron is an ideal ingredient for treating acne and breakouts. It holds medicinal properties which can help in clearing up acne-prone skin. Take 5-6 fresh basil leaves and 10 saffron strands. Soak them in clean water, make them into a paste and use on breakouts to clear them.
